Newcord

Terms of Service

Who runs this service

Newcord is operated independently by its own operator. It is not the official Discord service, and the software maintainers do not operate or control Newcord. The operator is responsible for its availability, policies, and handling of information.

The service uses software that is in early alpha. It may be changed, interrupted, or unavailable, and features may not work as expected. Keep your own copies of anything important.

Using an account

Use the service only if you are allowed to do so under the laws that apply to you. Keep your sign-in details secure, provide accurate information where requested, and tell the operator if you believe your account has been compromised.

You are responsible for activity through your account and for the content you submit. Do not share passwords, recovery codes, or other secrets in chats or public spaces.

Content and conduct

You retain responsibility for your content and must have the rights and permissions needed to share it. You allow this service to store, process, and deliver that content as needed to provide its features and honor your settings.

Follow the Community Guidelines. The operator may restrict access to content or accounts to address abuse, protect users or the service, comply with legal obligations, or enforce instance rules.

Messages and encryption

New messages and attachments in direct and group direct messages use end-to-end encryption. Guild channels are not end-to-end encrypted, and messages created before encryption was introduced remain unencrypted. In the default trusted-server mode, the operator may be able to recover encryption keys. This encryption implementation has not been independently audited and is still in alpha; do not treat it as a guarantee that information is inaccessible to the operator.

Availability and third parties

The operator may change, suspend, or discontinue features or the service. Links, integrations, and services provided by others may have their own terms and privacy practices; the instance operator does not control those services.

Questions and applicable rights

Contact the instance operator with questions or concerns about your account or these terms. These general terms do not remove rights that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you. The operator should provide any additional terms required for Newcord and its jurisdiction.
